ENGLISH COURSES

INCO 3005

Business Communication I

3 credits. Requisite: ingl 3102; 3104; 3012; or better in english advanced placement exam.

Both semesters, every year.

INCO 3006

Business Communication II

3 credits. Requisite: INCO 3005. Both semesters, every year.

INCO 4005

Business Oral Communication

3 credits. Requisite: INGl 30005-3006. 1st semester, every year.

INGL 0080

Pre-Basic English

Non-credit. Offered in the summer to students who obtained less than 450 in the English part of the CEEB.

INGL 3001

British Literature I

3 credits. Requisite: 3104, or 4/5 in the Advanced Placement Exam in English; English Honors. Equivalent for 3201, 3202, 3221 or 3222. 2nd semester, alternate years.

From the Old English epic Beowulf through 18th century and may include Shakespeare, Donne, Fielding, among others.

INGL 3002

British Literature from the Romantic Period to the Present

3 credits. Requisite: Inl 3104; or 4/5 in the Advanced Placement Exam in English; English Honors,

2nd Semester, alternate years. An equivalent for 3201, 3202, 3221 or 3222 British literature from 1798 to the present; may include Wordsworth, Charles Dickens, Virginia Woolf, and Doris Lessing, among others.

*INGL 3011

Honors English I

3 credits. Requisite: Obtain 641 or higher on CEEB exam.

*INGL 3012

Honors English II

3 credits. Requisite: 3011.

*From 1995 on first year students who normally would have taken Honors English will take second year courses to fulfill their first six credits in English. For their final six credits these students will take 4000 level courses, that is, third year and fourth year English courses (See Junta Académica certification # 53, 1994-95).

INGL 3021

Oral and Written English I

3 credits. Requisite: 3102;3012; 3/4/5 on the Advanced Placement Exam in English.

1st semester, every year. This course is intended to help teachers-to-be to improve their written and spoken English.

INGL 3055

Film and Literature

3 credits. Requisite: 3104; 3012; or 4/5 on the Advanced Placement Exam in English. Equivalent for 3201, 3202, 3221 or 3222.

2nd semester, alternate years. By comparing written fictional works with their filmed versions, the course considers the cinema as a literary art form.
