USDA Career Intern Programs

The Department of Agriculture Career Intern Program prepares exceptional men and women who have diverse professional experiences, academic training, and competencies for careers in public service.  Interns will participate in a 2-year full-time year-round program that is designed to fine tune their skills and abilities.

Description

The Career Intern Program is a 2-year internship in which individuals will participate in a formal training program and job assignments to develop competencies appropriate to FSIS’ mission and needs.

  • Focuses on preparing individuals for one of two career areas, Science or Administrative/Professional.
  • Provides professional development, rotational training, and a mentor.

Eligibility

U.S. citizenship; demonstrated leadership potential and community service; Bachelor’s or Graduate Degree if applying based on education, diverse professional experiences, training, and competencies.

Work Schedule:  Full-time, year-round.
