Allow me to express to you my sincere gratitude for your interest in the University of Puerto Rico. We are clearly aware of the many options for higher education that are open to you, and we feel honored that you would consider the University of Puerto Rico as a venue for your education.

Founded in 1903, the University of Puerto Rico offers you a century of experience in postsecondary education. With eleven campuses throughout the Island, ours is the largest and most prestigious institution of higher education in Puerto Rico, and one of the very best in the Caribbean and Latin America.

As President of the University of Puerto Rico, it is my pleasure to invite you to join us as a member of the first class of our second century of work in the venture of higher education. By applying for admission to our institution, you express your desire to participate in the most significant cultural project of Puerto Rico. If you come from a Puerto Rican background, this would be the opportunity to renew your acquaintance with your cultural and linguistic roots. If you come from another Hispanic background, what we offer you is the experience of becoming familiar with a germane culture and of practicing the language of your forbearers.
